WHAT TYPE OF PROPERTY IS AVAILABLE?
The difference between Fee, Trust and Lease Land on the Reservation
As an enrolled CSKT member, you have options when it come to home buying. Fee land is what you traditionally think of when buying property and is regulated by the State and taxed through the county. Property in Trust means that either the Tribe or an individual tribal member owns the property held in trust (usually allotted), is controlled by the U.S. government and Tribal land office and is not usually subject to taxation. Finally, Homesite leases are subleased thorough the tribe and the buyer owns the improvements but not the land.
Know what is available
In addition to traditional lending options like Conventional, FHA and VA loans, Tribal members have other avenues for funding including the 184 loan and Tribal Credit. We have the experience and knowledge to point you in the right direction and help you weigh your options.
